Educating the Next Generation of Land Stewards
At the Rideau Waterway Land Trust, we are dedicated to building a deep connection between children and the natural world by providing on-the-land and real-world learning opportunities. Students are immersed in hands-on experiences on our conserved properties within the beautiful and diverse landscapes of the Rideau corridor. By engaging with nature, participants not only learn valuable ecological concepts but also develop practical skills that are essential to being future stewards of the land. Our goal is to inspire a sense of responsibility for the environment and cultivate a passion for nature that will last a lifetime.
Our educational programs are designed around our own biological monitoring and land stewardship activities, allowing students to explore various aspects of conservation and biology in a meaningful and realistic way. From learning about local ecosystems to improving habitat for species-at-risk, every activity is aimed at igniting curiosity and fostering a deeper appreciation for the natural world.
We encourage individuals and educators to reach out to us to learn more about our programs and how they can participate. Whether you're interested in planning a school visit or want to explore the various learning opportunities we offer, we would love to hear from you!
