Lands & Wildlife

The Rideau Waterway Land Trust stewards more than 20 properties within the Rideau corridor between Kingston and Ottawa

The majority of these lands are considered Conservation Lands and are not open to the public. Two of our protected properties, Rock Dunder Nature Reserve and James H. Fullard Nature Reserve, are considered Community Lands. We welcome everyone to enjoy these properties from May 15th to November 15th, sunrise to sunset. We ask that all visitors respect the properties’ natural features. In extreme cases, if a community property is being harmed or is at risk in any way, the Land Trust may choose to restrict access.

From tiny islands to densely forested properties stretching for hundreds of acres, RWLT's conserved lands comprise a vast array of landscapes and habitats. These properties also support an incredible diversity of wildlife including many rare and at-risk species.

Nature has a future because our community cares
